The Dorsett and Rosewood hotels are due to open by the end of 2026. The Star Grand features 340 luxury rooms and a 360-degree signature cocktail bar. The luxury five star Star Grand hotel occupies towers two and three, which are the two curved towers. Black Hide Steak & Seafood will move from the Treasury Brisbane to the new precinct into a 240-seat restaurant. Queen's Wharf consists of four towers situated atop a seven-storey podium and a five-level basement. The project also includes a 1,500 seat-ballroom and a Sky Deck observation platform with 360 degree views. On the river’s edge, Riverline is the new bike and pedestrian pathway precinct, for active leisure and relaxation for workers during the week, as well as family-oriented recreational pursuits on weekends. Australia’s first 6-star Rosewood hotel and the grandeur of one of city’s most iconic heritage hotels, the Treasury Hotel, are coming soon. This new world-class precinct places Brisbane on the map as a tourism, leisure and entertainment destination. DBC Chair and Executive Director Wendy Chiu said the appointment strengthens the consortium’s operational leadership at a "pivotal time" for the precinct. Brisbane is buzzing with excitement as Queen’s Wharf transforms The City’s riverfront into a vibrant playground of luxury and leisure. The integrated resort that includes three hotels in the complex are the Star Grand hotel, Dorsett hotel and Rosewood hotel. The design aims to integrate tourism, leisure and entertainment facilities in an underutilised part of the city. By October 2021 the lift cores for both the Dorsett hotel and Rosewood hotels had reached level 21. Damaged artworks/frames will not be able to be placed on display. A selection process will be conducted by a qualified selection panel which includes the exhibition judges. Please note that the Event Centre is not open to the public for viewing the artworks, however a date for a tour of the Showcase will be announced closer to the time. Artists are asked to submit artworks that reflect what makes Brisbane and its surrounding attractions unique. This is an open exhibition for all artists residing in Queensland. But that's not all—three more hotels are planned for the precinct, with The Ritz-Carlton, the Dorsett and the Rosewood all set to bring serious luxury to the city. That's just the beginning though—once it's finally complete, Queen's Wharf Brisbane will be home to dozens of new cafes, bars and restaurants, three world-class hotels, luxury retailers, public spaces and of course, the new casino, The Star Brisbane. When entering artwork into RQAS exhibitions, the artworks need to be presented and finished in a professional manner. Executive Chef Jake Nicolson is it legal baccarat in brisbane curating a menu of feeds that includes kampot peppered beef with betel leaf and lemongrass and Vietnamese-style baby goat yellow curry, while cocktails will be Asian-inspired and come with a side of theatrics. Spanning more than 12 hectares along Brisbane’s riverfront, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane includes hotels, gaming facilities, retail, dining and public spaces, and is considered one of Australia’s largest tourism and entertainment developments. We need this information to easily identify your artwork before the exhibition labels (didactics) and catalogue are printed for the exhibition. Clearly mark the artist’s name, contact details, the title of work, and price on an artwork label, to be placed on the back of the work. If it appears on an artwork mat, the work must be reframed with a new mat. To determine if a rectangular or square canvas is "square" or "squared up", measure the diagonal of the canvas/artwork, and it should be the same length both ways. Artists may choose to paint the edge a single colour such as grey or a colour that complements the artwork, see Figure 1, or you may complete the artwork in the "round" as in Figure 2. This includes cleaning the glass and wiping off any dust that may have accumulated while in storage, making sure the matt is not marked and frame is not damaged This helps the gallery to create a cohesive exhibition with a professional look, as well as ensuring the hanging process is easy and safe for our staff and volunteers. Commission of 33.3% Including GST will be retained by RQAS Brisbane Branch to support and promote local artists. This exhibition will be judged by David Henderson; Sally Brand, QAGOMA; and Mostyn Bramley-Moore. All entries must be accompanied by a statement further describing the connection of the artwork to the Greater Brisbane area. We’ll keep you posted when we know more about what’s coming to the precinct, but you can also stay up to date and get all the latest construction news on The Star Brisbane website. The entire precinct will also encompass seven heritage listed buildings across several blocks, all the way down to The Treasury Building, with plans for everything from a microbrewery and speakeasy bar to a cooking school and aboriginal art gallery in the works for the spaces once they are restored. Ghanem Group, the Brisbane-based family-owned hospitality group behind iconic venues like Donna Chang, Boom Boom Room and Iris, have just announced that they will be joining the Queen’s Wharf line up with Lúc Lắc, a tropical-chic Indochine-inspired restaurant and bar. Works not collected within three months of the exhibition closing date may be disposed of at the discretion of the RQAS Committee. Artworks must be made available for the full duration of the exhibition – Saturday 1st August – Monday 26th October 2026. Any questions artists have during installation must be addressed to the Curator/Manager or their representative. This includes producing photographs, catalogues and advertising for promotional purposes Only finalists will have their work exhibited in the exhibition. After the submissions have been processed, all artists will be emailed to advise if they have been selected as a finalist or not. Artist must provide a statement (up to 300 words) about themselves; the story behind their artwork, its connection to Brisbane and what it means to them.
